Busta Rhymes is back.
The hip-hop legend has announced his upcoming album, Blockbusta.
The new project, expected out Friday, November 24, is executive produced by Busta and fellow music greats Swizz Beatz, Pharrell Williams and Timbaland.
In a video statement shared with press, Busta and the three producers discussed the importance of their collaboration.
After Swizz Beats humbly introduces himself as “The Student,” he then refers to Pharrell as “The King” and Timbaland as “The Pharaoh.”
“I’m so grateful that you chose me to be a part of your legacy,” Tim tells Busta.
Pharrell adds, “You really feel illuminated; this illumination is good because I think people are going to be able to get and feel that.”
In addition to their executive duties, all three producers appear on the album.
Blockbusta follows a blockbuster year for the rapper, who recently accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2023 BET Awards. He also dropped off album tracks “Luxury Life” featuring Coi Leray and produced by Swizz Beatz, and “Beach Ball” featuring BIA, which Busta submitted for nominations at the upcoming Grammys.
